Fantastical Beings by Kristal
In July 2020 I got to have my first ever art exhibit, a huge breakthrough point and something I’ve wanted to do for a very long time! It was a part of the Reykjavik Fringe festival and my theme was “Female creatures interacting with nature and magic” aka Fantastical Beings.

Pensive Dreamer
Carry your crown
On head full of dreams,
Flowers and strings,
All beautiful things,
Of glitter and gold
Woven of pure thought.
But not all gold glitters,
Not all stones shine,
as you well know, child of mine
So. Was it all for nought,
A fruitless war selfishly fought?
You wonder and doubt
Will your dreams ever be let out?
So heavy you think you could scream
But the fragile glass image
could get broken
Forget about longings, soft and
unspoken.
You carry this burden
This beautiful dream.
Serene and peaceful
Or so you seem.
Aloof and alone,
hover in daydream,
away from it all.
Weighed down
by your heavy but beautiful,
dream-woven crown.

The Peafowl Keeper
I've been fascinated with peafowl for a long time (and birds in general) and a few years ago, felt like I should paint something peacock inspired
Then that thing mysterious that sometimes happens, did! That is, I lost inspiration and it got put aside in a drawer, till I remembered it early this year, finishing just in time for my exhibit!
